Phys. Rev. E 66, 016211 (2002) [8 pages]Isolated resonances in conductance fluctuations and hierarchical statesReceived 29 January 2002; published 22 July 2002 We study the isolated resonances occurring in conductance fluctuations of quantum systems with a classically mixed phase space. We demonstrate that the isolated resonances and their scattering states can be associated with eigenstates of the closed system. They can all be categorized as hierarchical or regular, depending on where the corresponding eigenstates are concentrated in the classical phase space. © 2002 The American Physical Society URL:
